But this year, we decide to stay closer to home and hike near Laie. Our intent was to reach the Pine Forest, about an hour up the trail to the summit.
Mont and Oli were good troopers for a while, but with rain threatening and winds rising, we didn't make it up to the grove of Norfolk Pines that has a spectacular view of Laie. We will try again when conditions, environmental and developmental, are more propitious.
Beth and I easily made it up for our anniversary last year. See.
