One in a Million

Our blog is usually about the seven Tuellers, but here's a video we all like about fellow Laie 8th Ward member - Lillie Tuifua.  Grandma and Grandpa Tueller might remember her from Olivia's soccer team last year.

Shore watch

The BYUH Hawaiian Studies canoe, Iosepa is out in Laie Bay. Normally it is in the canoe house at the Polynesian Cultural Center but once a year the Hawaiian Studies majors train and learn aboard their floating classroom. Jim volunteered for the 2:00 to 6:00 a.m. shift of shore watch, just making sure that the canoe doesn't slip its anchor. Here are some beautiful photos of this morning's sunrise from Hukilau Beach.

Doris Duke Home

Beth and Jim played tourists on Friday. We went down to the Honolulu Museum of Art and from there took a shuttle to the Doris Duke home in East Honolulu. She inherited the huge fortune of her father James Buchanan Duke, of Duke University fame, tobacco and electric power. Doris loved visiting Hawaii and buying Islamic art. She combined this in her home Shangri-La. Here are some photos.
