Jim here, using Beth's account: Yesterday, October 4, 2010, a dear family friend and a Sevillana with a pure heart full of charity passed away in her home. Her two sons, Francisco Jose and Antonio Manuel, were by her bedside. Today has been a sad day for me, knowing how much I will miss her, while feeling for Fran and Antonio in their loss. Their father died more than 35 years ago and I smile thinking of Josefina reuniting with her beloved husband, her parents, and many brothers and sisters. The memorial service was held today in the
Tanatorio of Sevilla. Antonio plans on taking the ashes to their village, Aracena, in Huelva, in the coming weeks.
We'll keep a prayer in our hearts for the Salas family. Here are some great pictures with memories galore: February 1987 at Josefina's baptismal service in the Sevilla I chapel and June 2001 when five Tuellers spent a day in Matallana playing in the pool on a very hot Andalucian day. Gonzalo, Fran's second son, is playing with Isabel in the wading pool.
