Jim spent three weeks in Spain, mostly in Madrid. The conference commemorating the 400 years since the expulsion of the Moriscos was a professional highlight. He also visited FuentidueƱa, a village south of the Duero in the province of Segovia, where 21 Morisco families were exempted from the expulsion by their Catholic Bishop, at least for while. He stayed in a posada, which was a renovated 18th Century Chapel. Check out the website http://www.palaciodeloscondes.com. He also took a short visit to Sevilla, visiting friends. The AVE from Madrid to Sevilla is the way to go. Here are some pictures.
